Don’t sweat it! When Kim isn’t breaking the Internet

On Sunday, Kim Kardashian, the most meme-able and most followed (on Twitter) member of the Kardashian clan, sent a tweet that shook the podcast world to its core: 

Who has listened to the SERIAL podcast? I’m on episode 4 now and dying to know what you guys think? Is he guilty or innocent?!?!

That’s right: Kim is currently binge-ing everyone’s favorite trend-setting true crime podcast.

Did Serial, from the creators of podcast powerhouse This American Life, come out four years ago? Yes. Did people make fun of her for only listening to it now? Absolutely. But there is something joyous about discovering a new (to you) podcast, even when nearly everyone else on the planet has heard it, andSerial, a cultural touchstone in its own right, is a great podcast starter for Kim Kardashian, influencer of culture. And when we heard Kim’s request for other podcasts to listen to, we had to deliver:

Below are our recommendations for Kim:

1. Undisclosed: The obvious follow-up to Serial, the first season of this podcast also investigates the case against Adnan Syed. Hosts Rabia Chaudry, Colin Miller, and Susan Simpson examine evidence not previously brought to light — the deep dive is worth a listen for anyone who can’t get enough of Serial.

2. StartUp: Kim once said that if you had a business you were passionate about, you’d know what it takes to run a business. As a savvy businesswoman, Kim will appreciate the outstanding first season of Gimlet’s StartUp, which follows CEO and host Alex Blumberg’s journey through the early days of Gimlet.

3. Dirty John: One of the most gripping true crime podcasts of 2017, Dirty John follows the crimes of conman John Meehan all the way to its grisly end. It’s a must-hear podcast and a great next listen for Kim.

4. Wow In The World: Kim doesn’t have to be the only one listening to podcasts! We think North, Saint, and even Chicago would enjoy Wow in the World from NPR, a podcast that teaches kids and their grown-ups about the wonder of the world around them. Maybe Kylie and Stormy can join?
